THE SACRED STORY OF SRI TARA DEVI
According to ancient Puranic scriptures, when Lord Shiva performed the cosmic Tandava carrying the sacred form of Mother Sati, Lord Vishnu released the Sudarshana Chakra, dividing Her divine form into 51 holy Shakti Peethas.
The sacred Eye of Goddess Sati consecrated the serene hilltop amidst pine and deodar forests overlooking the Shimla valley, manifesting as the revered Sri Tara Devi Shakti Peedam.
Presided over by Goddess Tara Devi—the star goddess who guides souls across the ocean of worldly existence—and guarded by Lord Bhairav, this sacred hilltop shrine blesses devotees with spiritual awakening, peace, and divine protection.
Mother Sati's sacred Eye consecrated the serene Tara Parvat amidst the pine hills of Shimla, establishing Sri Tara Devi Shakti Peedam.
