THE SACRED STORY OF MAA GAYATRI DEVI
When the ultimate destruction and Tandava dance of Lord Shiva began upon Sati's self-immolation, the divine balance was shaken. In order to preserve the universe, Lord Vishnu divided Sati's physical form with his Sudarshana Chakra into 51 sanctified pieces.
In this cosmic division, Sati's sacred Wrists (Manibandha) fell at the scenic Manibandh hills near the holy lake of Pushkar, Rajasthan. The spot became a supreme sanctuary of Gayatri, the mother of Vedas and spiritual illumination.
She resides here as Goddess Gayatri (representing the primordial sound, spiritual intellect and Gayatri Mantra) alongside Lord Shiva as Bhairava Sarvanand, offering wisdom and guiding seekers toward the path of liberation.
During Lord Shiva's celestial Tandava, Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra divided Mother Sati's form into 51 divine Shakti Peedams.
Devi Sati's Sacred Wrists (Manibandha) descended upon the revered hills of Pushkar, Rajasthan.
Presided over by Maa Gayatri with Lord Sarvanand Bhairava, this sacred sanctuary grants intellectual light, Vedic wisdom, and supreme clarity.
THE DIVINE CHRONICLE
1. THE YAJNA
Goddess Sati immolated herself, unable to bear the insults directed at Lord Shiva in Daksha's yajna.
2. SHIVA'S GRIEF
Shiva carried Sati's body across the cosmos in deep sorrow, initiating cosmic dissolution.
3. THE SEVERING
Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra, and Sati's wrists (Manibandha) fell near Pushkar.
4. THE TEMPLE
