THE SACRED STORY OF MAA CHATTAL BHAVANI
Following Sati's self-immolation in the sacrificial flames of Daksha Prajapati, Lord Shiva was consumed by infinite grief. He performed the Tandava of cosmic dissolution while carrying her physical form.
To protect the universe from Shiva's destructive sorrow, Lord Vishnu sent his Sudarshana Chakra to divide Sati's physical form into 51 sacred parts. During this division, the Right Arm (Dakshina Bahu) of the Goddess fell atop the scenic Chandranath Hill in Sitakunda, Chittagong.
This holy site became the legendary Chattal Shakti Peeth (Sri Chattal Bhavani). Residing as Maa Bhavani, the deity is worshipped as a major source of cosmic strength and motherly protection, alongside Lord Shiva as Bhairava Chandrashekhar.
When Lord Shiva performed the celestial Tandava bearing Devi Sati, Lord Vishnu's Sudarshana Chakra divided the sacred form across 51 sanctified Shakti Peedams.
Mother Sati's Sacred Right Arm (Dakshina Bahu) descended atop the holy heights of Chandranath Hill in Sitakunda, Chittagong.
Presided over by Maa Bhavani and protected by Lord Chandrashekhar Bhairava, this shrine radiates cosmic strength, courageous action, and supreme protection.
THE DIVINE CHRONICLE
1. THE SACRIFICE
Goddess Sati sacrifices her physical shell in protest of the insults directed at Lord Shiva.
2. SHIVA'S MOURNING
Lord Shiva wanders in deep mourning, carrying the body of Sati and performing Tandava.
3. THE SEVERING
Lord Vishnu divides Sati's physical form, and her right arm (Dakshina Bahu) lands in Chittagong.

Maa Bhavani is established atop Chandranath Hill, becoming a major site of high cosmic power.
